Materials engineering includes the testing of materials for quality control as well as site inspections during placement. The objective of these procedures is to ensure the integrity and structural conformity of civil engineering works. Our specialists are called upon on a regular basis for the establishment of realistic specifications that take into account both the project¹s specific characteristics and the availability of materials in the area.

Technisol NB staff has been involved on a regular basis in the following fields:

• Asphalt concrete and concrete cement : Review of materials certification, review of mix designs, special testing on asphalt cement, inspection at the supplier¹s plant during production and on site during placement of materials, technical expertise on existing structures.
  

• Soils and backfill materials : Quality and quantity control at the imported source, validation of production processes, stockpiling and placement as well as the verification of compaction density during backfill works.
  

• Manufactured products : Validation and audit of production processes for the approval and/or certification of manufactured products
  

• Quality assurance systems and inspection and testing programs : Preparation of quality assurance systems as well as inspection and testing programs for contractors and/or review for the benefit of the owner. Audit of process for quality assurance system.
  

• Research and development : Elaboration and start-up of R&D programs on materials intended for civil engineering works.
