An environmental audit allows a company to see if it functions in compliance with applicable environmental laws. Technisol Environnement prepares a work protocol in conformity with CSA standard CAN/CSA-ISO 14010-F96 (C2001), Guidelines for Environmental Audit- General Principals, before work begins to define the object and scope of the audit. Relevant data is gathered through reviews of pertinent documentation, interviews and site visits.

This information is compared with federal, provincial and municipal legislation to establish environmental compliance and potential risks to the environment.

The scope of an environmental audit may also spread beyond the legislative and regulatory context. Audits of management procedures or of other more specific types of activities (for example in the field of hazardous waste management) may be carried out with respect to various applicable policies, guidelines, norms, or codes.
