Risk Analysis
When economical or technical constraints make a project impractical to carry out, it becomes necessary to look into the possibility of maintaining the status quo with regards to contaminants present on a site. This means implementing an environmental risk analysis. Recommendations are made as to the best measures to take in order to limit or eliminate entirely any risk associated with the contamination and to allow the site to be used.
Risk analysis is made up of three principal phases: analysis of the risk of the contamination spreading beyond the site, establishment of the potential risk to human health (toxicological risk), and identification of the ways in which the contaminants might spread to animal tissue or plant life and their repercussions (ecotoxicological risk).

Risk analysis requires a multidisciplinary approach in order to gather all the necessary data. Technisol Environnement's experts will:
- Identify the contaminants' toxicity;
- Establish the ecological impact these contaminants may have;
- Analyse the behaviour of the water table, environmental receptors, transport mechanisms, the distribution and diffusion of underground contaminants;
- Describe environmental receptors.
Once all these factors are taken into account, the best means of risk management is established.
