Phase I : Site Assessment
A Phase I site assessment is a systematic process conducted taking CSA standard Z768-01 into account. Its objective is to determine if a site has been contaminated or has been exposed to the risk of contamination. This type of study should always be carried out by specialists trained in environmental assessment.
Technisol Environnement can provide the necessary expertise. Many factors are taken into consideration during a Phase I assessment:
- Past and current activities on the site and its surroundings;
- Environmental legislation applicable to the site (laws, policies, guidelines, etc.);
- Materials used on the property;
- Any other relevant information.

A Phase I assessment is comprised of four distinct stages: study of available documents, site visit (including interviews), information review, and written report.
Technisol Environnement conducts a review of available relevant documents: aerial photos, land use maps, title search, company records, geological and geotechnical reports, etc. The written report will draw conclusions as to the risk or potential risk of finding contaminants, which may have an impact on the environment.
