TECHNISOL ENVIRONNEMENT :: Hydrogeology

Hydrogeology

Hydorogeological expertise is normally confined to two principal areas: drinking water supply exploration and contaminant transport. Technisol Environnement's experts operate in both fields.

The first field requires the assessment of the potential for exploiting a given aquifer. This allows us to establish the hydrogeological characteristics and the ease with which groundwater flows towards pumping stations.

The study of contaminant transport's aim is to determine the severity and behaviour of contaminant plumes in the water table. In order to do this, such data as speed and direction of groundwater flow, and nature and concentration of the contaminants are gathered to create a model of the contaminants' progress in time and space within a given plume. Adapted water treatment programs or hydraulic barriers are then developed. This allows the contamination to be contained on a given site and protects surrounding properties.
